Two of Heco’s finest, Doug Argo, PE, and Jesse Christensen, EIT, had a true Gulliver’s Travels experience while spending some time in the great State of Oregon. Nestled in among the pines and sagebrush near Chiloquin, OR is a tiny cove that houses an entire miniature train depot! And not the tiny plastic mini trains that you can only play with by using your imagination. We are talking REAL WORKING MINI TRAINS!  Of course our fella’s HAD to check it out! Its not every day that you get a true Giant experience

The Train Mountain Railroad is The World’s Largest Private Caboose Collection – with 37 Cabooses and holds the title of “World’s Longest Miniature Railroad” in the Guinness Book of World Records. Finding this unique treasure in the somewhat remote, but beautiful area in Oregon was extremely neat. You can visit Train Mountains website here: http://www.trainmtn.org/

Seeing this impressive miniature railroad with over 36 miles of track really drives the realization of just how vital good transportation is. And how different modes of transportation have advanced in just the last 100 years. We have come a long way from old wooden ships and rickety covered wagons!
