HECO Engineers is pleased to announce the recent hire of Kent Gingrich, who has joined the team as a Senior Project Manager. Kent will be working out of HECO’s Eagle, Idaho office, and will be establishing project budgets, completing designs, engineering reports, and developing schedules for a wide variety of projects with our clients in Idaho and California.

Kent comes to HECO with over 30 years of experience in water and wastewater. Most recently, Kent worked as a Senior Project Manager in the Boise, Idaho area, where he applied his skills to both municipal and federal projects. These include completing technical reports and contract documents for 17 projects at 10 different National Parks and designing multiple water, wastewater, well and irrigation systems for municipal clients throughout the Northwest. His work experience also includes preparing research and assisting with funding applications for over $5 million in design and construction projects with agencies such as the Idaho Department of Commerce, U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, USDA, U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and Idaho Dept. of Parks and Recreation. This background has helped Kent to make an easy transition into his current position with HECO.

In addition to his prior work, Kent has extensive experience with management of multi-disciplined staff. He has developed project schedules, directed the work of CAD Technicians, and managed the work of electrical, mechanical, structural, and controls engineers and architects.

Before joining HECO, Kent served as a Project Manager for SPF Water Engineering, LLC. While in this role, he completed several water and wastewater projects in Idaho and Oregon.

Kent combines his recent experience in pumping systems, pipelines, wastewater collection and water/ wastewater treatmentcontracting and consulting with past experience in a number of other areas, specifically youth mentoring, recycled water programs, and as a member of the City of Nampa Wastewater and Stormwater Advisory Group. Kent has been a licensed Civil Engineer in Idaho and California since 1993 and is a graduate of the Geddie and Associates Leadership Development Program.
