Realign Entrance Drive to Improve Visitor Safety
WHO WE ARE
Cesar E. Chavez National Monument, Keene, California
The Cesar E. Chavez National Monument was founded in 2012 as a site dedicated to the work of Cesar Chavez and American-Latino heritage. Initial improvements were required as the entrance road was determined to be unfit for the level of traffic to the monument. The National Parks Service tasked HECO with a project intended to make improvements to the existing entrance road by a complete topographic survey and mapping under Title I Predesign Services. The topographical survey helped define a potential path through consideration of landscape, utility locations, and listed materials to help create the project design.
