Waterlines & Mechanical Systems Rehabilitation

WHO WE ARE

Nez Perce National Historical Park, Lewiston, Idaho

This project addressed serious museum checklist deficiencies in the dedicated curatorial and archival storage rooms for the park’s museum collection. Waterlines, including those hung from the ceilings, and seven HVAC units and mechanical systems that go with them, were removed from the curatorial storage rooms. They were moved to a new mechanical system room that was built below ground adjoining the back wall of the current storage rooms.

The archival storage room moved to a new room built at the end of the new mechanical system room. The waterlines and mechanical systems in the former archival storage room remained where they were. The new mechanical room and archival storage room added 14000 sq. feet of space to the basement level of the visitor center. The new HVAC systems are more energy efficient and use less water than the previous units.
