Rudy Park and Centennial Boat Ramps

WHO WE ARE

Payette, Idaho

HECO Engineers was entrusted with a series of task orders for Payette County in Idaho to enhance two recreational facilities dedicated to boating, fishing, and other riverside activities. At Rudy Park, HECO Engineers oversaw the installation of a precast boat ramp in the Payette River, significantly improving public access and safety while reducing stream bank degradation. The project encompassed various site improvements, including the construction of a 12′ by 50′ precast boat ramp, area grading, a paved parking area, restrooms, a sprinkler system, and a grass area. The construction work was skillfully executed by the Payette County Road and Bridge team, in close collaboration with HECO Engineers.

The Centennial Park boat ramp, serving as the sole access point to the Snake River in Payette County, had fallen into disrepair due to age, frequent use, seasonal water current and flow, and weather exposure. HECO Engineers devised a two-phase project to restore and enhance this crucial facility. Phase 1 involved constructing a breakwater and a dock with a gangway, ensuring consistent access even as river levels fluctuated. Phase 2 focused on replacing the deteriorated ramp, improving vehicle access, creating a wider turning area, implementing better grades into and out of the ramp, and enhancing stormwater management. These comprehensive improvements aimed to revitalize the boat ramp, improve functionality, and enhance the overall user experience.

Throughout the projects, HECO Engineers provided a range of services to ensure their successful implementation. We prepared preliminary budgets and cost proposals, guiding the planning and financial aspects of the projects. HECO Engineers also offered funding assistance, aiding in the application process to secure the necessary funding for the projects. Our expertise in design, project management, and construction management played a vital role in overseeing the development and execution of projects, ensuring adherence to high standards of quality, functionality, and safety.

HECO Engineers’ involvement in the recreational facilities projects in Payette County exemplifies our commitment to improving public access and safety while preserving and enhancing natural resources. Our expertise in preliminary budgeting, funding assistance, design, project management, and construction management contributed to the successful completion of the boat ramp installations at Rudy Park and Centennial Park. These projects have not only revitalized the recreational facilities but have also provided enhanced opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy boating and riverside activities in the picturesque surroundings of Payette County.
